Alpha 4: Investigate the research center

Time limit: 30 minutes

Second away mission. We have more to do, but we also have more time. Send the same ten units you sent last time, and this should be good.

Arrival

Reinforcement time: 1 minute

Clearing the LZ really shouldn't be a problem. You might notice a new button at the upper left. That's the "Call reinforcements" button - that's right, you can bring more than 10 units this time. Simply click the button, select the units you want to call over, and click the launch button.

However, your reinforcements will only be able to land at the LZ if there are no enemies near it. So this time, you will have to defend the LZ - a couple of MG towers or three MG tanks should be enough.

This stage is the first you will deal with where pathfinding becomes an issue. For the reason, I recommend having your tanks set to not retreat at damage; instead, have your Repair Tank follow the battlegroup around, and pause after each fight to repair your units. Сохранить often, 'cause if your repair tank gets blindsided...

Head East, and you will notice scavenger towers and bunkers, including a "cannon" tower! How unexpected. Not that they are at all effective. While dealing with them, scav units will approach from the north.

You should have more than enough tanks to deal with them.

Head further west, and you will run into new buildings: "mini-pod" launchers. Semi-dangerous, but low HP. Your MG tanks will make short work of them.

Примечание that, if you took my advice and set your units to not retreat, you will have to monitor their HP. You might want to slow the game speed down for this; pull back any tank taking тяжелый damage to your trailing repair tank.

After killing the front two bunkers, do not press forward into the towers; move even farther west, and find a scav outpost with a factory. Level it. Then come back to the location you killed the bunkers at.

Moving north from here, find and frag the next enemy base. It's not large; 1 research facility, 2 defense buildings, and some units.

The tech here is the Миномёт. This is a big find. Исследования it and its upgrades immediately. Once the weapon is done researching, design a new юнит to use this weapon, and build 10 of them (you still have access to your factories back at your home base). These units will be critical to the next stage, so may as well have them ready ASAP.

After this base is done, you get a cutscene... and are told of another base north of the one you just fried. You are about to see why it's important to turn off retreat orders.

See this? If you retreat, you'll be retreating straight into unexplored territory, with unfriendly enemies.

Continue until you destroy the enemy factory and get the Half-Гусеницы technology.

Once you have that, you can clear the rest of the map for experience, or just head back to the near the LZ. Moving all your units into the LZ will end the level, and you might want to take whatever part of the time you have left to finish researching your mortar upgrades.

Once you're ready, move all your units onto the LZ, and you're done!
